Former “Gossip Girl” and “Harriet the Spy” star Michelle Trachtenberg passed away at the age of 39 after undergoing a liver transplant.

According to The Post, actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who starred in a number of TV and movie shows, such as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Gossip Girl,” passed away at the age of 39.

According to the sources, Trachtenberg’s mother discovered her in One Columbus Place, a 51-story upscale apartment building in Manhattan’s Central Park South district, at approximately 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the actress passed away from natural causes after undergoing a liver transplant recently.

According to the NYPD, EMS personnel declared Trachtenberg deceased after cops discovered him “unconscious and unresponsive.” After receiving a 911 call about a woman going into cardiac arrest, they arrived at the building.

The reason of her death will be determined by the city medical examiner, and it is not considered suspicious.

The award-winning actress has 800,000 followers on Instagram, where Trachtenberg shared a number of unsettling images in recent months. The images showed her looking thin and weak, which led some fans to comment about her shocking weight loss or wonder whether she was using drugs.

Trachtenberg was born on October 11, 1985, in New York City. She played the eccentric gal pal Nona F. Mecklenberg in the Nickelodeon sitcom “The Adventures of Pete and Pete” in the 1990s when she was just 9 years old.

 

She switched to more mature acting roles as an adult, such as playing Dawn Summers, the sister of the vampire-slaying protagonist of “Buffy,” for three years. She also played the cunning and manipulative antagonist Georgina Sparks on the six-season television series “Gossip Girl.”

In a mysterious Instagram post at the time, Trachtenberg revealed shocking claims against Joss Whedon, the 55-year-old director of “Avengers” and creator of “Buffy,” in 2021. She claimed that he was physically abusive during filming and that there was a “rule” against him being alone in a room with her on set.
